He studied at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee from 1990 to 1991, then Visual Cultural Studies at the Universität der Künste in Berlin from 1992 to 1998, where he also attended Prof. Lothar Baumgarten's master class in 1999. His artistic works have been shown in numerous national and international solo and group exhibitions. In 2000 he was awarded the GASAG Art Prize. Kai Schiemenz lives and works in Berlin.
